Philosophy

The Pen Ryn School is a school that functions with mutual respect, support, and enthusiasm in a nurturing atmosphere. Parents, teachers, administrators, and alumni strive to build a strong academic environment. Students can then grow with loving care, and gain self-respect and confidence. Pen Ryn is an equal-opportunity care provider.

The student is the heart of our school. Pen Ryn seeks to nurture the "whole child," to care for the spirit as well as the mind; to encourage social growth as well as physical development; to install individual academic excellence.

The educational experience at Pen Ryn encourages students to incorporate learning into life and to have a sense of responsibility to the community as well as to themselves.

Our teachers strive to maintain the delicate balance between academic instructors and caring mentors. We emphasize the development of self-direction, self-discipline, and a positive self-image.

The school provides a varied and current curriculum that challenges the student's intellectual abilities. We seek to develop the potential of each student.

Our Inclusion Philosophy: Admissions and the provision of services shall be made without regard to race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin (including limited English proficiency), age, or sex. Program services shall be made accessible to eligible persons with disabilities through the most practical and economically feasible methods available. These methods include but are not limited to, equipment redesign, the provision of aides, and the use of alternative service delivery locations. Structural modifications shall be considered only as a last resort among available methods.
