Extended Day Care

A Safe, Engaging Place Before and After School

We understand how busy family schedules can be, and we’re proud to offer an Extended Day Care (EDC) program that provides a safe, fun, and welcoming place for children to start and end their day. Available for all grade levels, EDC gives students extra time to learn, play, and build friendships in a supportive environment — so parents never have to feel rushed or worry about running a few minutes late.

Hours & Flexibility

Morning care: 7:00 – 8:00 AM
Afternoon care: 3:30 – 6:00 PM

Families can use EDC on a regular, pre-paid basis or as needed, offering the flexibility to fit your schedule — whether you’re commuting, working late, or just need time to run errands.

What Students Enjoy

Our Extended Day Care program is more than just supervision. During these hours, students get to:

Build friendships across grade levels
Complete homework with help nearby if needed
Explore arts & crafts and simple science activities
Have a snack and unwind from the school day
Play board games, build with LEGO, work on puzzles
Play outside on our playground or in the gym

For many of our students, EDC is a favorite part of the day. They look forward to the relaxed time to be with friends, try new activities, and enjoy being part of our Pen Ryn community even beyond regular school hours.

Easy to Join

Enrollment in EDC is open to all Pen Ryn students. Parents can sign up ahead of time for consistent care, or use it on an occasional basis as your family’s needs change throughout the year.
