Athletics

Building Skills, Teamwork, and School Spirit

At Pen Ryn, athletics are an important part of student life, giving students the chance to develop physical skills, learn the value of teamwork, and represent their school with pride.
 
Our interscholastic sports program allows students to compete with other independent schools in the area. Through practices and games students build resilience, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships — all while contributing to a strong sense of school spirit.

Fall Sports

Soccer (Grades 6-8)

Our soccer team focuses on skill development, strategy, and working together as a unit on the field. Students compete against nearby schools, building both individual ability and team spirit.

Cross Country (Grades 5-8)

Cross country runners train to improve endurance and personal bests while enjoying the camaraderie of running as a team. Meets provide opportunities to challenge themselves and cheer on friends.

Winter Sports

Girls Basketball (Grades 6-8)

Players develop their skills on the court while learning offensive and defensive strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The team competes against other independent schools in the region.
 
Boys Basketball (Grades 6-8)

The boys basketball program emphasizes fundamentals, game sense, and working together under pressure. Games offer students the chance to test their skills in a supportive, competitive environment.
 
Cheerleading (Grades 3-8)

Open to a wide range of grades, cheerleaders build spirit and lead school enthusiasm, performing at games and school events. They develop coordination, confidence, and strong bonds with their squad.

Spring Sports

Volleyball (Grades 6-8)
 
Students learn the fundamentals of volleyball, from serving and passing to teamwork at the net. They compete against other local independent schools, building skills, confidence, and school spirit along the way.
