Our student council involves students in meaningful ways both in and beyond the classroom. It is providing opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents, skills, and interests while continuing to develop new skills.

Our student council consists of 2 representative from grades 5-8 and one from K-4. It also has a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer that is elected by the student body. Each officer candidate gives a speech to the entire student body.

Student council is a great way to find and develop potential student leaders. Our student council will organize activities, plan student events, help advocate for funds, and do some community service.

2010-2011 Activities

• Created holiday cards to send to soldiers serving overseas
• Coat/hat/mitten drive for Shepard school (officers distributed)
• Dress down days and spirit days to collect money for various organizations
• Pretzel sales
• Dances for middle school students
• Collected Toys for Tots as part of holiday dance admission
• Valentine's Day lollipop sale for Luekemia society
• Helped with hot chocolate distribution to bus drivers/parents at drop off before Christmas
• Conduct monthly meetings led by officers
